This module focuses on strategies for guiding 6- to 12-year-old L2 learners from their first steps in L2 acquisition toward meaningful, spontaneous L2 use. You will explore motivating tasks and activities that promote this progression, including how to scaffold and facilitate peer interaction in the L2 to further foster language development. This module is divided into three sessions: - First steps in L2 acquisition and use: Engaging the young learner with the L2 in meaningful ways from the beginning - On the way to free spontaneous L2 production: First steps in creative language use – motivating tasks and activities - Creating engaging opportunities for free spontaneous L2 production and (peer) interaction for L2 development
