Laying the Foundation for L2 Beginners

Service Description

This module is for educators working with 6- to 12-year-old L2 beginners helps you understand children’s human and L2 needs, enabling you to create an environment where they can thrive. You will explore the importance of authentic language use to support early oral comprehension – helping young learners understand you – and the equally important task of making the L2 relevant to the child, so they feel connected and are excited to engage with it. This module is divided into three sessions: - Understanding children’s human and L2 needs so they can thrive in the L2 - Engaging in authentic language use from the start and helping young beginner L2 learners to understand you - Making it matter to the child: How you can connect the child to a new and foreign language and get them excited to engage with it
